Rick Rule talks with Brien Lundin — executive editor and publisher of Gold Newsletter and president of Jefferson Financial —about investment conferences in 2019 worthy of attendance: the Sprott Vancouver Natural Resource Symposium, the New Orleans Investment Conference and the Money, Metals & Mining Cruise. Rule hosts the Vancouver conference and Lundin hosts the New Orleans and cruise conferences.
The Vancouver and New Orleans conferences focus on metals and mining and resources investing. While the Vancouver conference focuses more on the companies involved in the sector, the New Orleans conference takes a more generalist outlook, with geopolitics mixed in. Lundin says investing in the sector requires needing to know what questions to ask. Attendees hear “from people who’ve been through cycles and have the inside track on the best deals and opportunities.” They’ll also hear “how to divorce from the emotions of those cycles to your benefit.” Both conferences have long histories — the New Orleans conference with over 30 years and the Sprott conference with over 25 years. They’ve endured because they have consistently delivered value to investors and speculators.
The 2019 Money, Metals & Mining Cruise involves an exclusive, high-end group of investors. Rule will be sharing his expertise aboard the luxury cruise ship Crystal Serenity, as it travels through the Western Caribbean.
